XmasGifts_EMThe last thing I want on Christmas day is to be reminded that I have bad eczema.  I have to deal with it all year long, especially in the winter.  Some of these gifts are meant to be a sly way of helping your loved one with eczema, without a big, red, flashing reminder that they have it.  We already know!!

On the other hand, parents especially who are just learning about eczema would really appreciate some of these gifts (Check out snugglepaws below).  Pick a gift based on the needs of the recipient and your budget constraints too.  Think ahead!! Some of these gifts you can only obtain online and some are only available from overseas.  So order those gifts soon!!

Be weary though, if you don’t have a close relationship with the person with eczema you’re shopping for… Avoid this list!!  Here are some Christmas shopping ideas for your loved one with eczema:

Baby Value Pack: ErbaOrganics Baby Value Pack from – $33.  All natural products for baby’s eczema.  If you find more gifts on this site, you can get free shipping and handling for free if you spend more than $75.

Books:  Teach your little ones about eczema without the overcomplicated, medical explanations and jargon.  “Emmy’s Eczema Book” from – $12

“Under My Skin” from – FREE.  I had a physical copy of this book that I gave to a mother whose child had eczema.  I haven’t been able to find a hardcopy since then.  Download the PDF version for free from the website and bind together to make your own homemade book, made with love from Mommy and Daddy.

SnugglePaws Pajamas: Adorable jammies for the little ones with built in “paws” so they don’t scratch in their sleep.  The fabric is breathable so there won’t be any sweating and itching throughout the night.  And so cute too!!

Fleece blanket:  Homemade gifts from the heart are the best kinds of gifts.  Watch this tutorial on how to make your own fleece blankies for any and every member of the family.  A nice way to keep that loved one warm and a subtle way of preventing the harsh cold from causing flareups for your loved one with eczema.  If you shop right and use these coupons from Joann’s, you can make a 5ft x 5ft fleece tie blankie for around $20.

Scarf, mitten/glove, and hat set:
Women – I fell in love with this animal print MUK LUKS Pom Beanie with fur scarf set at Target, now on sale for half off – $18.  The mittens are built into the ends of the scarf – smart, cute and stylish.  The same set sells at WalMart for $24, but in other colors and prints.

Men – Well, I searched far and wide and only found hat and scarf sets for men, without gloves.  Dockers flat knit stripe hat and scarf set now half-off at Kohl’s for $25.

I think gloves are a necessity in the winter time when you have eczema on your hands, so try pairing up these gloves with the scarf and hat set for the man in your life.  Also available at Kohl’s, Tek Gear Microfleece Thinsulate Gloves for $12.

Eos products:  Eos hand lotion and lip balm set – $5 at WalMart.  Comes in a variety of colors and flavors.  Keep that skin moisturized in the cold weather!!

Burt’s Bees products: Keeping eczema moisturized is a MUST during winter time!  Give that loved one with eczema some Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion for $10 from the Burt’s Bee website.  Smells good too!

Hand Warmers:  Bed Buddy Pocket Wamers, Walmart – $8.  I love these!  Throw them in your coat pockets and keep your hands warm throughout those long winter days.  These had definitely been helpful in keeping my eczema at bay and protecting them from the harsh cold air.  But beware! Don’t place these directly on bare skin.  It can cause minor burns.  Ouch!
